The hidden costs of growth
Most business growth advice starts with systems, pricing, and scale. But if you’re a queer, Indigenous, first-gen, or otherwise marginalized founder, there’s a whole layer underneath. There are other considerations, like:
The credibility tax: Having to prove your legitimacy over and over.
Emotional labour: Being the face of your community and the CEO.
Visibility tension: Needing to be seen to grow, but not always feeling safe doing so.
These aren’t excuses. They’re real costs. And naming them is part of outgrowing them.
